For the past five years, I have spent time both teaching outdoor environmental education as a Naturalist at the Indiana Dunes Environmental Learning Center located in the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore in Chesterton, Indiana and developing and delivering programs as an Education Specialist at Northern Illinois University, Lorado Taft Field Campus.  Currently I am designing, developing and delivering a new environmental science education program through the Center for Earth and Environmental Science called Discovering the Science of the Environment.

Discovering the Science of the Environment

The Discovering the Science of the Environment program is an experiential, inquiry-based, outdoor laboratory-focused science education program for 4^th-9^th grade classes in central Indiana.  Utilizing a mobile resource trailer equipped with interactive technology tools, web interface, and GIS mapping capabilities, the DSE program travels to schools to provide free educational programming at school ground natural areas.
